What I Did On My Summer Recession.
I love a good, solid recession every once in a while.
When a mean one shows up and really digs in, it tends to do a couple of very positive things.
First off, a recession scares the hell out of everybody. And I think that's a good thing every once and a while - makes you appreciate what you've still got.
Second, a stiff economic downturn always roots out the fakers and the posers and the amateurs. I love that. Thinning the herd is just plain good evolution.
And finally, a good recession makes you become a better player overall. You're leaner, hungrier and faster to the ball. You go back to the basics – every day - because you have to.
Ah, the recession of 2008. Like a long, lazy summer vacation, this one's going to be over way too early for me.
